The Makeup | Green Smokey Eye

Having been inspired by a lovely beauty guru, known as Barbara, also known as 'thepersianbabe' over on youtube, I thought I would try and create a wearable, green, smokey eye for any occasion to suit. Scouring my makeup collection I realised that I don't have many green eyeshadows; thereafter I decided to purchase more but for now to make do.

The products that I used are listed below:

Burts & Bees Honey Lip Balm
Manuka Doctor Blemish Cream
Rimmel Wake me Up Foundation
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Benefit Erase Paste
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
Urban Decay Eye Primer
Natural Collection Duo Eyeshadow
MAC Eyeshadow in shade 'Lustre Leaf'
MUA Triple Eye Palette in 'Innocence'
Urban Decay Brown Eyeliner
'They're real' Benefit Mascara
Rimmel Bronzer
FATE Blusher
'10' Highlighter
MUA Pink Lipstick

Vera Wang Lipstick

The look was extremely easy to do and I'll explain the steps below, but if you'd find it easier to watch me actually creating the look, then you can click here

  1. Base > After applying some moisturising lip balm and dotting some blemish cream on some spots, I applied a foundation. Thereafter, I dotted some concealer on my spots. To set my foundation I applied some matte powder which also reduces the oilyness on my skin.
  2. Eyes > Lightly using a small amount of eye primer to prevent the eyeshadow from creasing, I then apply a base shadow of a bone/white coloured shadow and then took a dark brown and applied that to my crease to create a dense and dimensional look to the eyes. Then I took my main green eyeshadow and brushed that over the lid, used a shimmery dark, metallic brown and applied that to the inner corners and centre of the lid. Lastly, apply some dark, black eyeshadow the outer corners of the eyes. After this, I blended the eyeshadow together to make the look less harsh. Then, using the brown eyeshadow from before, I apply this just under my waterline and finish that by using a brown eyeliner and putting that on my waterline. Finishing the eyes with mascara and applying some erase paste under the eyes; this is much more brightening than the Collection one.
  3. Face > Then I get some bronzer and gently apply this to my cheeks and on my temples. Using a pink blush, I lightly apply this to my cheeks and finish my highlighting my brow bone and the top of my cheeks. I complete the look with a light pink lipstick and top coat it with another pink glossy/lip laquer.
I hope these steps were easy to follow and you give this look a go. Let me know if you do! What did you think of the look? Click below to watch the video!
