The Makeup | MAC Blusher in 'Well Dressed'

I am a big lover of blushers and if you've followed my blog or youtube for a while now then you would be aware of this love big time! So, I wanted to buy my first ever MAC blusher with a particular shade in mind, but with £18 a pop I almost didn't bring myself to it, until I thought of eBay. Therefore, I got my hands on a brand new blusher for only £12.50 here. I highly recommend searching eBay first for brand new makeup items before paying the full hog on the website.

Anyway, MAC's 'Well Dressed' blusher is described as an 'immaculate pink, with a satin finish', I can't find any reason to disagree with the description. The blusher is a light, blue-based pink with cool undertones and an extremely soft, satin finish. What I like is that it's matte and so there isn't a shimmer that appears when applied, most of the blushers that I own usually have a glitter and so this is a nice comparison.

I love my blushers to be highly pigmented and intense with colour, however, this particular blusher isn't pigmented. With this one you have to build on the colour to a medium coverage with a blush brush, so, with my skintone it was too subtle at first, which may be the same with those of the same complexion. I can imagine for those with a fairer complexion that the blusher won't be too bright and would prefer it. I definitely think SLEEK blushers are much better when it comes to comparing the pigmentation.

However, I can't complain that the texture of the blush isn't nice; it's so soft, silky and a little powdery therefore, making it easy to blend and cover if you go a little overboard. It is quite long-lasting on my skin, but then again I did have to build it up a lot to how I like it. This hasn't put me off MAC blushers though, I'm just a little surprised, I'm interested to know if all of the blushers are like this?

  1. i may be wrong but are you sure it's not a fake? x

  2. I have never been a fan of blushes as I find them too pink and far to pigmented for me, so this may actually be ideal!!

  3. I've never tried a MAC blusher before. I am quite pale though, so this would probably show up more on me.
I've heard great things about this shade though, so I'm quite surprised.
