The Skincare | La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+

If you watched my vlogmas videos then you'll know that my skin was going through a really weird phase, where I had redness, under-the-skin spots, as well as some blemishes and these were mainly on my cheeks and further down my face. I had no idea what had caused it, but I believe that it may be the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation unfortunately, so turned to changing my skincare and finding a moisturiser that would solve my skin chaos. La Roche Posay was a very hyped product and after reading various reviews, I decided to buy one myself. This proved to do the job and cleared up my skin immensely, I'm now almost scared to change my moisturiser to something else, but, when that finished I decided to try out La Roche Posay's new effaclar duo +.

I feel like this is one of few products that seems to work on those horrible spots that are under the surface, which are very sore and red, as well as tackling large pores and blackheads. I find that this one is slightly different to the normal one as that one is more of a watery and gel texture, whereas this one is of a cream substance. I like that it doesn't dry out my skin and it doesn't sting, it's a very gentle on the skin. I have been using this daily as I feel like my skin needs it to go back to its original state before Christmas. I think it's very afforable, effective and suitable for most skin types and can heal or help those who suffer chronic acne, or even for the occasional breakout.

Now, the difference between the old one and the 'plus' is that they have improved the formula. The new effaclar duo+ helps prevent red marks or dark spots/scarring after the spot has cleared. It's often that the scarring or the aftermath of the spot causes the most upset and can take months or longer to disappear and can be more noticeable than the original blemish. The new Duo contains a new ingredient that super-sizes the effects of the product, which soothes the skin to decrease inflammation and increases the speed of the skin to return back to normal. It does also help prevent spots, treat them and then clean-up what's left of them after,

You use this new Duo just as before, you apply it after you've cleansed. Apparently it can be used with or without moisturiser, but I tend to use it as a moisturiser as it's very nourishing on its own, and the improved formula is suitable for all-over application (which I did before anyway). However, if you feel it's too strong for your whole face, you can apply it to just the affected areas.

  1. I purhcased this a couple of weeks ago, its such a miracle product. I had the same problem where my skin seemed to be irritated by something (which i still haven't figured out) and this made almost an immediate difference. Its a bit no frills but its a great moisturiser like you said and I've found its quite a good primer too.
