The Food | Tanya Burr's Chocolate Cookies...

Unfortunately,  I wasn't able to take a photo of the finished product as Rupert's dogs got to it before I could.. angry isn't the word! However, if you want to know what they look like you can have a look on Tanya's blog, but just imagine really yummy chocolate cookies. They're very popular and very yummy, so I had to give it a go myself and as I was on a bit of a baking roll, I went for it...

You will need:

- 200g Butter
- 300g Caster Sugar
- 1 Large Egg
- 275g Self-Raising Flour
- 75g Cocoa Powder
- Dash of Milk
- Large bar of Milk, White and Dark Chocolate
- 3 Daim Bars (couldn't find any in the shop)

 1. First, heat your oven to 200 degrees, I was using an AGA which actually made my timings a lot different, but I'll note down the timings and heat for an over user.

2. Mix the butter and sugar until it's smooth, then crack the egg in to the mixture, which is always my favourite bit.

3. Add all the dry ingredients to the mixture and blend it together. If it gets too dry, Tanya recommends adding a bit of milk.

4. Break the chocolate into squares and add it to the mixture. After this, line two trays with baking paper or foil.

5. Use your hands to separate the mixture into 10 blobs and place five on to each tray. Bake for eleven minutes, they will look like they are under-cooked, but still take them out and let them cool for half an hour. Keep any pets away!
