The Tips | Avoiding The Nail Selfie Claw

We've all been there, we've just painted our nails and now we want to share our work with everyone, however, when you get to it, you take a million and they all look like an eagle's claw.. very attractive. Well, below are just a few tips of how to avoid that claw-like look, ones that I've picked up anyway..

  1. Once you've painted your nails or had a manicure that's when you should take your nail-selfie as that's when it'll look its best. No chips, no cuticles poking everywhere etc.

  2. To make it look even better, you should make sure the lighting is good. Try to take that pic by a window or when it's daylight as this will really show off the colour, the neatness and the work you put in!

  3. If you want to avoid your fingers looking weird or chubby, then the nails should be parallel to the camera, rather than at an angle as that'll make your fingers look odd.

  4. Although, it is nice to show off that nail polish by holding the product, it can actually distract people from the nails and make your hands look a bit awkward. This also leads you to being at an angle as you're trying to fit the bottle of nail polish in.

  5. Make sure the background is quite bare, either against a piece of paper or coloured card, nothing that'll take the attention away from the nails themselves.
