The Tips | Pedicure 101

Your toes aren't on show just yet, but what with Spring and Summer just round the corner, you need to get those tootsies prepped and primed. I never used to pay much attention to my toes, but I feel that applying some nail polish to them and giving them a bit of a pamper, makes all the difference when you look at them in flip flops or when you're bare foot walking round the house. Below are some tips of how to get those toes ready for the Summer...

  1. This might seem a bit excessive, but you should apply oil to your feet and toenails after a shower and massage it into the skin. This keeps them from getting cracked heels, dryness and makes them very soft. Obviously you won't be able to do this when you're in a rush, but you could always run some water in the bath after a long day and do this before bed.

  2. It's always good to give your toes a break from nail polish, as it avoid dis-coloration (you know, when it goes a bit yellow). This gives the nails a bit of a detox and let's them breathe.

  3. Before you apply nail polish, you should buff the nails, as it protects it, adds shine, gives a smoother canvas to work with and enables the nail varnish to stay on longer. May seem like a big job, but it takes seconds on each nail.
