The Skincare | Holiday Edition

As I was going away for two weeks, it was worth bringing the full size of everything, rather than de-canting it all and making a skincare mess. I am a skincare fanatic, so even when I come home super late, I will still do my routine, there is no way I will just get a face wipe - I don't even own any. I do enjoy my routine, as I love how my skin feels afterwards and it's so nice to just remove that layer of makeup. So, on holiday at the end of the day I needed to make sure that I got rid of that sunbathing sweat, you know what I mean, sea salt/chlorine and SPF. I will take you through my little routine that I did on holiday, I actually found that the sun/vitamin D helped my skin immensely and you can see in the pictures I had some spot scabs left behind and the sun really helped my skin with blemishes, redness etc.

1. I started used the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser, until it ran out and I had a massive freak out. Thereafter, I just used fresh, cold water from the tap to cleanse my skin which did the job as I never wore a full face of makeup or had heavy eye makeup. I actually found that this was nice to give my skin a bit of a break.

2. As I was just using water, I then cleansed with my Boots Botanics Cleansing cream, followed by the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. This made sure to get rid of anything left on my skin and left it feeling very refreshed, great when you've spent the day in the sun.

3. To tone, I used my new favourite, Pixi Glow Tonic, which made sure the skin wasn't feeling too rough round the edges after being stripped from the cleanse. I love how the liquid is orange too... just me?

4. With the serum, I applied this AM and PM before my moisturiser, this was quite a small tube anyway, so was great with regards to space and weight, this was the Indeed Labs Pepta-Bright serum.

5. My favourite part of the skincare was that I stuck to SPF moisturiser for the AM and PM. For the morning and during the day, I used the Malibu Sun Lotion for  the face. This was a lot thicker than the after-sun and spelt amazing, did I say that this only cost me £1! For the evening, I applied the Malibu After-Sun Lotion for the face as well, which is very light and soothing on the skin.
Now that I'm back in England, I'm quite sad that I don't get to do that routine or use those moisturisers, due to the fact that we have no sun. However, perhaps next time I will de-cant the bottles.. as this caused me to pay 5 euros for being over the limit for the baggage weight...

  1. I've been using Effaclar Duo + and Pepta Bright day and night for the 3 weeks and it's worked wonders for my skin! xx
