All About That Base

I got bored of my Rimmel Stay Matte powder, especially when the lid cracked and I could no longer carry it with me in the handbag! So, I wanted to try another budget powder and the one I chose is the Bourjois Healthy Balance Compact Powder. Let's start with the packaging, it's slim, compact and has a mirror - hallelujah! It has a slight citrus/fruity scent which I don't mind at all and it's very subtle, so if you're in to strong fragrances then do not fear.

When it comes to the formula, it's a pressed powder with a hint of coverage that takes away any shine, but still allows a dewy/glowy sheen. I find that the powder is very subtle, as it's a light to medium coverage, so no cakey effect happening here. If you're having a really good skin day or just have perfect skin, you could probably use this by itself. It definitely blurs the pores, as the powder is quite mattifying, but still leaves the complexion looking radiant. There's quite a few ingredients in the powder which is really beneficial to your skin, the Sharon fruit smoothes and moisturises and the Yuzu fruit absorbs excess shine. It leaves the skin looking perfect and no powder detectable.
