Serious Concealer Coveting

Before I began my youtube journey I didn't use a concealer, I just used whatever I had left on my hand from my foundation and blended that on blemishes, redness and what have you! Now look at me, I've got a whole section for concealers in my makeup collection. If I can avoid wearing foundation on a mkeup day then I will, which means the slick of concealer has to be a good one. I also find them detrimental for when I'm being lazy on weekends or just popping out. I do prefer having a natural finish and I love the way my skin feels after a post-cleanse and moisturise, so the less makeup the better. Although, I am partial to a full on 4 layers and cat-eye on the lids

Starting off with an old favourite is the Benefit Erase Paste, I haven't used this in awhile to be quite honest with you, as I'm so sick of it creasing under my eyes. The formula is very thick and creamy, but easy to blend, however due to it's thickness I think that's what makes it crease. I don't have wrinkles under my eyes or fine lines, so it's bizarre. Due to it being so thick, it means you can use the tiniest amount and it'll do the job. It comes with a tiny plastic spatula, but I just use my finger. I did use this on blemishes but it was so light reflecting and illuminating, it was best for under the eyes. It does have a high coverage, yet it still made me look away and refreshed. However, I think this is very overpriced at £20.50, especially when it creases.

The holy grail of concealers comes in the form of the Collection Lasting Perfection. Such a great budget concealer, with a high coverage, long-lasting, natural finish. This a no fuss basis, no illuminating or dewy effect. However, until you use a different concealer you don't see that the Collection concealer can be quite drying and cakey, but it does a great job at covering blemishes, redness and anything you want to hide basically!

When i'm looking for a slightly lighter feel for the under-eye area, I turn to the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer. I'm a big fan of the foundation, so had to see if its partner in crime was just as good. I find the concealer very smooth and blendable, not drying at all and feels very light on the skin, which is great for under the eyes. It brightens my skin and leaves me looking more awake, although I wouldn't say it was high coverage, probably low to medium coverage, however it does last throughout the day. Plus, it smells divine.

Last but not least, a recent favourite of mine, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. I have a full review of this already, so I'll be brief. This is great coverage, has no shimmer but is still very brightening and very creamy, making it perfectly blendable. I feel like this is very similar to the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer but more luxurious and less cakey and drying. This is perfect to wear on its own, great for lazy days and when you feel and look a bit rough. Covers dark circles and spots/redness, can anyone find me a better concealer, because I think I'm in love.

  1. I'm running out of my Nars Concealer, and I desperately need to repurchase it! xx

    1. Hate it when that dreaded moment happens! Such a good concealer though xx

  2. I've tried the Collection and Rimmel Concealers and absolutely love them! I haven't ventured into the higher end ones yet but everyone raves about the Nars one so I might have to invest in it... xx
