My Manicure Routine

I've been giving my nails a break since the summer and have hardly worn any nail polish, well, that's all changed my friends. I'm coming at you today with my manicure routine, it's not extensive and I'm not including any major buffing, soaking malarky, just what I do when I want to get my nails done and dusted!

After I've cleaned my hands and gotten rid of any old nail polish, if any, I like to file my nails to make sure they're all relatively the same shape and are going to grow in to the shape I like. This is usually a rounded square shape, not sure why I'm keen on this particular shape but hey ho. Once that's done, I apply the Sally Hansen Double Duty base coat and wait for that to dry, this takes about a minute, probably less. Then, I move on to my polish of choice and this time it was  Essie's 'Bahama Mama', I love this during the colder months, it's a lovely rich, deep plum polish. I then like to make sure this has properly dried to make sure it doesn't chip or smudge, so I usually wait about 5-7 minutes, I'll either watch a video or browse the web. Finishing off with the Sally Hansen Double Duty as a top coat as well, this leaves the nails looking super shiny and makes the polish last longer. Again, after this has dried, I like to dip the end of a cotton bud in some nail polish remover and I'll go around the edges of my nails to remove any polish that I smudged or 'went over the lines' with.

Very simple and easy, what's your manicure routine, do you do the same?
