Two Books That You Have To Read

If you don't know this already, I love reading, I love books and if I had my own place I would have the biggest book shelf. I could probably sit in a cosy arm chair with a blanket and read books all day, whilst sipping on coffee and munching on a crumpet. Anyway, daydreaming aside, I have two recommendations for you which have really made an influence on me personally, plus really enjoyed.

The most recent (and favourite out of the two) book is #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso. Sophia is the Founder and CEO of Nasty Gal, one of the fastest retailers in the US, with a turnover of a bajillion zeros. A.K.A she is a big deal and this book that she's written, will you give a kick up the bum in terms of inspiration and getting sh*t done. To be brief, the book covers her stories of how Nasty Gal began, Sophia's own personal stories of her life, competition , how she made it and so much more. You can see that Sophia worked extremely hard to get where she is today and she completely inspires me. There are some one-liners within that will stick with me forever and the illustrations that show a new chapter are just amazing, plus there are inserts of kick-ass women that are included in the book too.

The next book is different to the first, this is Running Like A Girl by Alexandra Heminsley. In short, this is Alexandra's personal journey of becoming a runner and she'll also make you want to pick up a pair of trainers and run too. It's such a great read, it's honest in the sense that she doesn't sugar coat anything, she talks about her highs and lows, something that isn't mentioned that much on a pinterest "running tips" image. I love that she also stresses how she didn't like exercise or sport, so you can really relate to her on any level as she talks through the different stages of her 'running life'. I highly recommend if you're debating on starting to run, currently a runner and need a book you can totally agree with or if you're wanting to complete a marathon/have completed one and need some advice.

Do you have any books that you would recommend?

  1. I've been meaning to get #GIRLBOSS for the longest time, when I first read an article on her I became so motivated to think up a business haha. If it wasn't $17 on Amazon I would get it lol. :)
