2014 In Beauty

Last year I filmed two very lengthy videos on my 2013 favourites, instead of making you endure though that again and the fact that everybody seems to be doing it, I thought I'd write you a post which won't take 16 minutes, but still long enough for you to grab a tea or in my case a coffee. I won't be touching on skincare, body or hair as they're still pretty similar to 2013, apart from a few changes. However, I'm going to share with you all things makeup that I've loved throughout 2014.

MAKEUP

2014 was all about being dewy and very natural, therefore, with this in mind the products that I reached for ensured that I got that radiant and luminous complexion. Last year introduced the importance of primer to me and my one of choice is the Benefit Porefessional Primer, my full thoughts are here. To create my canvas the first half of the year I blended NARS Sheer Glow foundation in to the skin, but come October this was replaced with the Olay Pore Minimizer CC cream, reviews are here and here. Having not got on well with this concealer at the beginning of the year, it soon became a must-have in my makeup bag, the one and only NARS Creamy Concealer, more information here. To make sure everything stayed put, I dusted the face with the Bourjois Healthy Balance powder and managed to write a whole post about it here. To get that bronzed look I routed for the Soap & Glory Solar Powder (review), highlighting this with the NARS Copacabana illuminator (review) and finally a swirl of the Benefit Majorette (review) blush on the cheeks.

Now the base is covered, the only shadows that were gracing my lids were a range of combinations from the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette which totally stole my heart in 2014 (thoughts). I had to think for quite awhile about which eyeliner I used frequently, but it was actually very obvious, lining my eyes constantly was the MAC pencil in 'Coffee'.. how appropriate or the Soap & Glory Supercat eyeliner. To get those lashes looking volumed, long and fluttery I loved the Lancome Hypnose mascara for this job (review). Brows are always a challenge, but not when it comes to choosing the product, a new favourite from only a couple of months ago, is the Maybelline Brow Satin Pencil, a review is yet to come. I always have a lip balm on my bedside table and in 2014 it was the Nuxe Reve de Miel which is just gorgeous on the lips and super moisturising. If I ever wanted that extra shine on the lips I turned to the Tanya Burr lipgloss in 'Picnic in the Park'. If truth be told, it was quite difficult to choose as there were so many great releases in 2014. However, to finish off the look, there were so many lipsticks that graced my lips, but the one that I wore a heck of a lot was the L'oreal Paris Collection Privee in 'Cheryl's nude' - smells like palma violets and has a click sound when you shut it - amazing.
