My Mini MAC Collection

I've never been one to want ALL the MAC lipsticks and only have a small collection myself, as you can see above. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big lover of lipstick and there isn't a day that goes by when I'm not sporting a lip product, whether it be a lipstick, gloss or balm. I've just never had the urge to go out and spend a lot of money on a lipstick from MAC. Yes, there are a few that I covet and add to my wish list, but over time I tend to forget them and then no longer want them. With that said, I currently have 3 in my mind that I'd like to get my hands on. Anyway, I see a lot of people do videos on their MAC lipstick collection and if I were to do the same, it would probably last about 30 seconds, so here's the rundown...

UP THE AMP > A light purple lipstick with some pink tones mixed in, making it less of a scary purple and more of a wearable one. I love how this looks on my skin tone and the colour isn't too pale or dark, like a mid-toned violet, yet still bright.  This is an amplified finish, meaning it's hydrating and creamy compared to the matte finishes. It's rich in pigment and not as glossy as the creme sheen and lustre lipsticks. The staying power is pretty good for me 3-4 hours and leaves a soft stain of the colour on the lips. This is one of my favourites of the few I have.

PURE ZEN > I've done a full review of this lipstick here, but in short, it's slightly peachy toned and I find works well with my complexion. There is a hint of shimmer, but doesn't transfer on to the lips. As it's a cream sheen formula, the finish is quite opaque, moisturising on the lips and has a great lasting powder. The lipstick is creamy and definitely a staple in my makeup bag!

COSTA CHIC > I remember buying this ages ago when I saw someone on instagram post a selfie and she wore this, I instantly had to buy it and now I hardly wear it! This one has a frost finish and I don't find it particularly moisturising. When first applied it feels quite nourishing on the lips but after an hour or two, it starts to feel quit dry and stains the lips. If i'm going to reapply, I won't add more of the lipstick, but a lip balm, as the colour of Costa Chic doesn't fade, it just gets a bit drying. The colour is a beautiful vibrant pink/coral and I usually like to wear this in the Summer.

RUSSIAN RED > Every woman needs a red lipstick in their stash and this is one of mine. I love bringing this one out for special occasions, especially at Christmas or when I'm feeling Marilyn Monroe inspired and want to slick on some red. If I was more confident, I reckon I would sport a red lip everyday! I love this lipstick, it's incredibly pigmented, rich and bold and has a matte finish. I don't find this drying on the lips, but I always exfoliate and moisturise before applying. The longevity of the lipstick is perfect, it lasts hours and doesn't bleed or feather and I even wear it without a lip liner!

CHERISH > Now I've worn this a few times and every time I've hated it, but I'm willing to give it another chance, as I see it on other people and it looks amazing. This one is a satin finish and is described as a "soft, muted, peachy beige", I don't see much peach in the mix. I would definitely say it's more of a nude on me and for some reason it just doesn't look right - perhaps I'm doing it wrong? It feels light on the lips and wears for a good few hours, it doesn't dry out the lips and I guess I should watch a few tutorials?
