The Lanolips 101 Ointment

For the past couple of days my lips have been giving me grief, they're super dry if I don't apply any lip balm to them, they get chapped after a day outside and sometimes, they're absolutely fine! Annoying! Recently, I was given the Lanolips 101 Ointment* and to give my Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream a rest, I gave the Lanolips a test. The ointment is completely clear, so it's perfect if you don't want any colour on the lips or as a lip mask overnight, no lip tint on the pillow case. It's described as a multi-purpose balm, it contains 100% pure Medical Lanolin which melts between the fingers and has multiple uses. This can be used for dry and chapped lips, dry cuticles, dry skin, dry noses or any dry patches on the skin. This would be a great product to take with you on holiday as it can be used for various things. It's 100% natural, pure and fragrance free and suitable for all skin types. What I do like is how it only contains two ingredients; Lanolin and Lanolin Oil - no parabens, additives, preservatives or anything bad, you really know what you're using.

The 101 Ointment is packaged within a baby pink tube and I find that the ointment is very thick, therefore you do have to squeeze the tube quite a bit to get the product out. The ointment is clear, odourless and a little definitely goes a long way, any excess that I have left, I apply to my knuckles. I don't really like how thick the product is as I do end up with more than I need and it leaves my lips feeling quite 'slippery', therefore it's not great if I want to apply another lip product on top, however, this is great as an overnight treatment. How I make it work for me is to apply a bit on my ring finger and warm it up, by rubbing another finger against it which warms it up and makes it easier to apply. The best thing is that it leaves my lips smooth, nourished and any dryness/chapped parts disappear. I would recommend purchasing it if you really suffer from dryness/chapped lips in the colder months, but if not then I would give it a miss and try out their individual lip balms, I hear the banana one is rather lovely!
