What Drugstore Brands are Best For Me!

It can be so overwhelming walking in to a Boots or Superdrug (the English drugstore versions of CVS and whatnot) and when I'm looking to try something new, I never know where to start. I find that it can be a bit of a risk when trying something new from a brand you haven't tried before. I thought I would give you my opinion on what drugstore brands work best for me in certain categories. There are some that definitely come to mind straight away and others I had to chew on my pen lid for a bit. . .

The Best for Foundation... I'm afraid I couldn't settle on just one for this, it's between Rimmel and Revlon. In total I have adored 3 Rimmel offerings from the Wake Me Up Foundation, which is adored by many during the summer months. Then I was constantly sporting Match Perfection or the Lasting Finish Nude Foundation. I think that's pretty good running, the fragrance is always great, lasting power is good, medium to full coverage with a skin-like finish formula. Then again, I was obsessed with Revlon's Nearly Naked Foundation which made me look like I had flawless skin, was super light and was basically perfect skin in a bottle.

The Best for Concealer... Maybelline has got this one in the bag. I currently sport their Eraser Eye Concealer, which has a light texture and I'm sort of in love with the sponge applicator. They also have the Fit Me Concealer which has a great coverage for blemishes, redness and more - also considered a dupe for the NARS creamy concealer.

The Best for Cheeks... If you've been reading my blog for a while now, you'll know that I am obsessed with blusher and can not go without wearing it, even if I'm running out the door or for a special evening out. When I look at my collection of blushers, the majority that takes that space is Sleek. I have a lot of their blush-by-3 palettes, as well as individual blushers. I love their Contour Kit, and remember desperately trying to get my hands on it years ago. Simply amazing.

The Best for Eyes... in terms of actual shadows, I have to say truthfully that I don't sport many from the drugstore, but when I do it comes in the form of L'Oreal. I love the Colour Riche Mono Eyeshadows, the La Palette Nude is to die for and they also have the Colour Infallible Eyeshadows. However, if you're looking for a brilliant liquid liner, you'll want to head over to Collection and purchase their Fast Stroke Eyeliner, it is truly fantastic.

The Best for Mascara... For me, it's Maybelline, all the way. With their new release of the Lash Sensational Mascara it's been gracing my lashes non stop. I wasn't surprised that I'd be in love with it as of course they also have the Falsies Mascara which was coveted by the entire nation. However, I am also in love with Rimmel's Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara, that one is just perfect for volume, length, curl - everything.

The Best for Lipsticks... My first love affair with a lipstick was a Bourjois one and they still get my favour. They always have a brilliant range of shades in their collection and I am in love with their Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks - moisturising, pigmented and long-lasting. However, I do love their Rouge Edition Lipsticks too which are fabulous! In terms of lipgloss, it has to go to Tanya Burr. They pack so much colour, smell amazing, last amazingly well and the shades are just beautiful. My personal favourites are 'Chic' and 'Afternoon Tea'
